Nutrition used to be a boring old subject. Gone are the days when all we worried about was fats, carbohydrate and protein. Modern nutrition covers everything from the cancer-protective effects of broccoli to the health benefits of oily fish and the humble bacteria found in yoghurt. Nowadays it is becoming quite trendy to talk and write about these things.
But can food really make a difference to your health? How likely is it to change something like migraine, arthritis or irritable bowel syndrome? Surely we need powerful medicines for these conditions?
I have only one answer to that. Health is the natural condition of the human body. Your body is always striving towards health. But our diet and lifestyle - even our habitual thoughts and emotions - can cause stresses to our body which damage its intricate balance. It can take a lot of abuse, but eventually something will go wrong.
However if we can identify and remove the stresses which made it go wrong, it is possible to change anything, even the way our genes express themselves. That’s what my books are all about. I do hope you will discover and enjoy them, and that they will benefit you and your family.
