Cori cycle (also see
Energy production)
Also known as the lactic acid cycle, this describes the
process whereby glucose is recycled when there is insufficient oxygen for normal
glucose metabolism via the Krebs cycle. In the Cori cycle, blood glucose is
converted to lactic acid, which is then converted back to glucose or glycogen.

Cortisone
One of the glucocorticoid hormones made by the adrenal
glands.
Cranberry
Herb
Cranberry juice (which should be undiluted and unsweetened
or used in the form of a commercially prepared extract), is capable of helping
to prevent bacteria from adhering to the walls of the bladder and genitourinary
tract, thus preventing cystitis.
Cruciferous vegetables
Vegetables belonging to the plant family known as the Cruciferae.

Cyclic AMP (adenosine monophosphate)
A substance involved in the hormonal control of metabolism.
