Information Quality
Nutrition has become a confusing subject, as hundreds of conflicting theories and opinions are now in circulation, often published with little discernment or criticism. This does not favour a true understanding of this vitally important subject.
Both alternative and orthodox disciplines are guilty of adding to the confusion. A medical qualification does not guarantee that an individual's comment about alternative medicine or its products is a fact. The comment may simply be quoting a newspaper article. Likewise, an alternative practitioner may know many medical facts without having to be medically qualified.
My priorities are to separate opinion from fact, to identify original sources of all information, assess the quality of those sources, and assess conflicting opinions in order to arrive at solutions which are most helpful to individuals seeking better health.
