Promising nutritional research

Bacterial infections of the urinary tract were reduced by nearly 50% in women who drink 300 ml of cranberry juice daily for 6 months. Cranberry is effective in inhibiting the adhesion of bacteria to the bladder and urinary tract walls. Fleet JC: New support for a folk remedy: cranberry juice reduces bacteriuria and pyuria in elderly women. Nutr Rev 52(5):168-70, 1994.
